MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) released its end-of-the-year awards on Thursday afternoon with the Elmira College men’s ice hockey program garnering three all-conference selections.

Three different Soaring Eagles received All-NEHC accolades, as Elmira placed two players on the 2023 All-NEHC First Team, and one on the NEHC All-Rookie squad.

Coaches from across the conference selected Chance Gorman ’24 and Amedeo Mastrangeli ’24 to represent the All-NEHC First Team for the Purple & Gold this season, while Kerfalla Toure ’26 was named as a representative to the NEHC All-Rookie Team for Elmira.

Gorman earns his first All-NEHC First Team selection after tallying a career-high 19 goals and four assists for a total of 23 points for the Soaring Eagles. The Flemington, New Jersey native went on a late-season goal-scoring streak for the Purple & Gold as Gorman netted 12 goals over his final seven games to secure the league’s scoring title. He currently leads the conference and ranks 5th in DIII in goals per game (0.76) for the Soaring Eagles. Gorman’s breakout game of the season for Elmira came against No. 1
Hobart as he netted four goals in a 7-5 victory against the Statesman at the Murray Athletic Center on January 21.

Mastrangeli joins Gorman in earning his first All-NEHC First Team honor after leading the conference with 20 assists on the season. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native leads the Purple & Gold this season with a +14 plus/minus rating and has blocked a team-high 42 shots through 25 games for Elmira. He currently leads the conference and ranks 22nd in DIII in assists per game (0.80) for the Soaring Eagles. Mastrangeli has been a part of an EC defensive core this season that currently ranks 33rd in DIII in scoring defense (2.64) and is 21st in scoring margin (0.92).

Toure skated in 22 regular-season games as a first-year member of the Soaring Eagles and tallied seven goals and nine assists for a total of 16 points. The Montreal, Quebec native, who is a two-sport athlete for the Purple & Gold, garnered NEHC Rookie of the Week honors on December 5 after recording one goal and three assists in a pair of wins for Elmira. He also tallied points in six straight games earlier this season for EC and notched goals in three straight games. Toure has three game-winning goals for the Purple & Gold which rank third in the NEHC and 18th in DIII this season.
