The OHL is saddened by news of the loss of former Sudbury Wolves, Soo Greyhounds and Mississauga IceDogs forward Scott Page, who has passed away at the age of 44 in Hamden, Connecticut.
The first captain in the history of the Mississauga IceDogs franchise, Page got his start in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, who selected him in the sixth round of the 1996 OHL Priority Selection. He’d go on to play four OHL seasons from 1996-2000, recording 103 points (48-55–103) and 759 penalty minutes over 235 regular season games. Page also played for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds before being chosen by his hometown team in Mississauga in the 1998 OHL Expansion Draft.
Following his time in the OHL, Page went on to play four years of U SPORTS men’s hockey at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He played one season professionally, skating with the UHL’s Adirondack Frostbite before retiring after the 2004-05 season.
The League extends thoughts and condolences to Scott’s family and friends as they mourn his passing.
