Selected by the Blackhawks in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Korchinski played his entire rookie season in Chicago last year. In 76 games with the team, he scored five goals and added 10 assists for 15 points.

Prior to making the jump to the NHL, Korchinski spent parts of four seasons playing for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds where he collected 148 points in 145 career regular season games.

While Korchinski was a regular in the Blackhawks lineup in 2023-24, the additions of T.J. Brodie and Alec Martinez in free agency will likely push Korchinski down the lineup. A smart puck-moving defender, Korchinski struggled at times during his rookie season and could benefit from playing in the AHL to start 2024-25.
