Sabres To Host Prospects Challenge This September

The Buffalo Sabres have hosted a prospect tournament at LECOM Harborcenter since 2015, and on Tuesday the club announced that the 2024 Prospects Challenge will take place from September 13 through 16, which will include youngsters from the Sabres and five other NHL clubs.

Prospects from the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, and New Jersey Devils will participate in a round-robin tournament, with each club playing three times. The Sabres will also be hosting a Fan Fest on Saturday, Sept. 14, where they will have the opportunity to take in unique experiences, special programming, and live music throughout the day while interacting with current Sabres players and alumni, who will be in attendance for photo opportunities and autograph session.

Friday, Sept. 13

Boston Bruins vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, 12 p.m.

New Jersey Devils vs. Ottawa Senators, 3:30 p.m.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 14

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators, 12 p.m.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins, 3:30 p.m.

New Jersey Devils vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 16

Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils, 10 a.m.

Ottawa Senators vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 1:30 p.m.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Buffalo Sabres, 5 p.m.

Although rosters will not be confirmed until early September, it will likely include 2024 first-rounders Carter Yakemchuk (Ottawa), Cayden Lindstrom (Columbus), Dean Letourneau (Boston), and Sabres top pick Konsta Helenius. Also likely to take part from Buffalo is 2022 top pick Noah Ostlund, but it is unknown whether other prospects with American Hockey League experience (Jiri Kulich, Isak Rosen, Ryan Johnson) will take part.
