A total of six OHL players have been named to Slovakia’s preliminary roster for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship that takes place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

St. Louis Blues prospect Dalibor Dvorsky (Sudbury Wolves), Montreal Canadiens draftee Filip Mesar (Kitchener Rangers), Chicago Blackhawks prospect Martin Misiak (Erie Otters) and Minnesota Wild selection Servac Petrovsky (Owen Sound Attack) all return from the 2023 squad while Jakub Chromiak (Kingston Frontenacs) and Roman Kukumberg (Sarnia Sting) are newcomers in 2024. A total of 10 CHL players were named to the preliminary roster.

Slovakia reached the quarterfinals in 2023 where they were beaten 4-3 in overtime by eventual champions Canada.

Slovakia, who are two-time bronze medallists (1999, 2015), have been drawn into Group B alongside Czechia, Norway, Switzerland and the United States.
