A flurry of trades continues for the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday afternoon.
The latest move has seen them move forward Pierre Engvall to the New York Islanders for a third-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Engvall, 26, was drafted by the Leafs in the 7th round of the 2014 draft and has turned into a valuable depth piece for the team. Engvall joined the Leafs organization in 2017-18 playing nine regular season games with the Toronto Marlies scoring four goals and eight points, before scoring another three goals and eight points that year when the team won the Calder Cup.
He spent another season there scoring 19 goals and 32 points in 70 games and got his first taste of NHL action in the 2019-20 season. Since then, he’s appeared in 226 NHL games scoring 42 goals and 83 points. His .21 goals per game clip scored so far this season was a career-high and is on pace for a 30-point season.
The Leafs are stocking up on picks here today shipping Rasmus Sandin to the Washington Capitals for defenceman Erik Gustafsson and Boston’s 1st round pick, as well as moving a third-round pick for Luke Schenn from the Vancouver Canucks.
