Former Windsor Spitfires captain Will Cuylle made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers on Wednesday night, doing so in his hometown of Toronto as the Rangers fell 3-2 in overtime to the Maple Leafs. The 20-year-old saw 5:49 of ice time in the loss, throwing four hits in the process.

Selected by the Rangers in the third round (60th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft, Cuylle played three seasons in Windsor, graduating after leading the Spits to a Western Conference title last spring. The 6-foot-3, 212Ib. winger was a second team all-star last season before winning gold with Canada’s National Junior Team last summer. In 184 career OHL regular season games with Windsor, the former third overall OHL Priority Selection choice amassed 163 points (91-72–163). He put up 31 points (15-16–31) in 25 games during Windsor’s playoff run last spring.

Prior to being called up by the Rangers, Cuylle played in 39 games with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, producing 13 goals, seven assists and 20 points in 39 games.
