GENEVA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles made the short trip to Geneva to face off against the reigning two-time defending National Champion Hobart College Statesmen. The Soaring Eagles fell 7-1 in the first contest of the back-to-back.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Nathan Young ’25 scored the only goal for EC in the game, a late tally in the third period set up by Shane Miller ’25.
The Soaring Eagles were unable to get anything going on the power play, going 0/6 on the man advantage in the contest. Hobart didn’t fare much better but got one across, going 1/6 on their attempts up a man.
Brody Haynes ’26 suffered the loss, stopping 26 of 33 shots from the Statesmen while Damon Beaver denied 25 attempts from the Soaring Eagles at the other end.
Eric Bertelsen ’28 finished with six shots on goal, pacing the Purple & Gold, while Carter Wisely ’25, Chance Gorman ’24, and Young each registered three.
