It’s been a whirlwind last month for new Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz.
And you’re about to hear all about it.
T-minus 69 days (nice!) until the 2024-25 season opener in Montreal!
We kicked off the latest edition of Leafs Morning Take by discussing Craig Berube and how much different we expect the team to look under their new bench boss. For example, Calle Jarnkrok was one of Sheldon Keefe’s favourites. Who will Berube be fond of? I said Chris Tanev, Rosey countered with Max Domi. The best part about this is the clean slate for everyone involved. On top of that, it will be fascinating to see the line deployment. Let’s just hope for less line jugging this time.
At any rate, presented by Greta Bar YYZ, we dissected Jarnkrok’s game further. In the long run, even though the 32-year-old’s coming off a poor showing in the postseason, I think he can prove to be a big-time x-factor for Toronto. That said, he’s better served playing the bottom-six. Ideally, I would love to have him on the fourth line in the playoffs. When it comes to winning, possessing depth is the name of the game.
After that, we played our interview with Anthony Stolarz. I said this on the show, but I was really impressed with his demeanour. In fact, it reminded me a lot of Joseph Woll. I’m looking forward to seeing the Woll/Stolarz tandem in action
Leafs Morning Take will return next Tuesday!
