HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Soaring Eagles got a second at the 14:22 mark in the first period when Domitrovic cut off a Geneseo pass and laid the puck into the path of Ryan Reifler ’24, who fired the puck into the net for his fourth goal of the season, and doubled Elmira’s lead.
- EC struck again seven minutes into the second period when Domitrovic found Janis Vizbelis ’24 on a beautiful pass towards goal, which Vizbelis calmly put inside the left post, giving Elmira a 3-0 advantage with his sixth goal of the season.
- The Knights would get one back on a power play just past the halfway point of the second period, bringing Elmira’s lead down to two.
- The Purple & Gold responded quickly, scoring another just over a minute later when Shawn Kennedy ’24 scored on a Vizbelis assist, giving Kennedy his fourth goal of the season and Elmira a 4-1 lead.
- Elmira took its three-goal lead into the third period. Domitrovic found a chance to score his second goal of the day when he picked up the loose puck and carried it down the ice toward the goal. The Geneseo goaltender saved his first effort, but Domitrovic was able to collect the rebound and force it into the goal, giving Elmira a 5-1 lead at the 6:05 mark.
- The Knights scored once more on a power play with 9:30 played in the period, bringing the Soaring Eagles’ lead down to three once again.
- No team would score until the final minutes of the game when Domitrovic once again found the back of the net, this time with an empty net for Geneseo, shooting from the face-off circle in front of his own goal and scoring, giving Elmira its sixth goal of the game and securing the hat trick for Domitrovic.
- Kyle Curtin ’26 started between the posts for the Soaring Eagles, making 39 saves during the match.
