The Philadelphia Flyers put together a strong effort in Sunday’s pre-season game, defeating the Washington Capitals by a 6-2 final score. Several Flyers players stood out in the club’s big win, and winger Joel Farabee was undoubtedly among them.

Farabee had a strong offensive performance against the Capitals, recording one goal and three assists. This is just what the doctor ordered for Farabee, especially after all the trade speculation surrounding him this off-season. Now, his goal will be to build off it from here.
When looking at the Flyers’ forward group, the possibility of Farabee not having a top-six spot is there. The Flyers have wingers like Tyson Foerster, Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, and Matvei Michkov as among their prime top-six candidates.
However, after a strong performance like this, Farabee should not be ignored regarding the Flyers’ top six. Clearly, he is a skilled forward who can produce offense, and if he maintains his hot start, he should make a case for himself to have a prominent role with the Flyers this season.
It will be fun to see how Farabee performs from here, but his pre-season truly could not have started off in a better way.
