Joey Daccord is considered one of the league’s most promising goaltenders. His exceptional performances throughout the 2023-2024 season were marked by a series of jaw-dropping saves that not only highlighted his agility and reflexes, but also played a crucial role in the Kraken’s competitive edge. One of his best saves came during the Kraken’s debut at the Winter Classic in Seattle vs the Vegas Golden Knights. Daccord’s glove save from Vegas’ Jack Eichel secured a shut out win over the Knights.

Daccord’s season was not just about flashy saves, but can we talk about this scorpion save? Daccord’s ability to stay calm and make critical stops in high-pressure situations is a key factor in the Kraken’s overall success.
Late in the season against the Winnipeg Jets, fans bit their fingernails watching Daccord defend the net after losing his stick. Daccord showed pure grit and determination and this performance cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting goalies to watch in the NHL.
