The Windsor Spitfires honoured long-time radio play-by-play voice Steve Bell prior to puck drop on Wednesday night.
Known by many around Windsor as “Beller,” Bell has called Spitfires games for 40 years, continuing to provide the call on AM 800 CKLW.
The Spits honoured Bell on-ice prior to game time against the Guelph Storm. Several Spitfires alumni such as Ed Jovanovski, Wyatt Johnston, Will Cuylle, Michael DiPietro and general manager Bill Bowler shared messages of gratitude and well-wishes to the iconic voice of the franchise.
A tribute to the great Steve “Beller” Bell on 40 years of continued service with our Spitfires. ❤️#WindsorSpitfires #WhateverItTakes pic.twitter.com/CmRznbJNyo
