The 2022 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration is fast approaching and with it comes the return of the Legends Classic on November 13th.
This year’s rendition will see Team Sundin face off against Team Lindros as part of the weekend festivities, which will include most members of the 2022 inductee class. Going into the Hall this year will be Daniel Alfredsson, Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Roberto Luongo, Herb Carnegie, and Riikka Sallinen.
Some of the other events to be included in the 2022 Induction Weekend include the Hockey Hall of Fame Game on November 11th when the Leafs host the Penguins and a Q&A session including some members of the inductee class on November 12th. It will wrap up with the ceremony itself on November 14th at 7:30 p.m, which you can watch in person or on TSN and the NHL Network.
The majority of the 2022 inductees will be included on Team Sundin, as well as a noted member of the Leafs’ front office.
Joining Mats Sundin will be Alfredsson, the Sedin twins, Cammi Granato, Tessa Bonhomme, Patrice Brisebois, Rane Carnegie (honouring his grandfather, Herb), Al Iafrate, Brendan Morrison, Chris Neil, Chris Phillips, Pierre Turgeon, and Jason Spezza. Brian Boucher will be manning the crease.
For Team Lindros, it will feature a number of former Leafs and Luongo playing as a defenceman for the first time.
Alongside Luongo and Eric Lindros will be Jayna Hefford, Kevin Bieksa, Wendel Clark, Shaney Corson, Dan Hamhuis, Tomas Kaberle, John LeClair, Gary Leeman, Bryan McCabe, Rob Ray, Mikael Renberg, and Vicky Sunohara. Manning the crease will be Cory Schneider.
At the time of writing, the coaches for both teams have not been announced.
