Soaring Eagles Host 50th Annual Elmira College Athletics Awards Banquet

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Soaring Eagles held their 50th annual Elmira College Athletics Awards Banquet on Monday inside Speidel Gymnasium to honor the accomplishments of the student-athletes and 2022 senior class.

This year alone, the Purple & Gold saw five teams qualify for conference tournaments to go along with one conference champion, one NCAA Tournament Semifinalist, and a National Championship performance from the cheerleading team.

Elmira broke ground at the Holding Point Recreation Complex as the new home for softball and baseball, while sending three women’s wrestlers to the National Tournament. EC finished the year with 34 all-conference selections, three Empire 8 Rookie of the Year’s, a Conference Player of the Year, and four All-Americans.
